Here I am, writing about Sweden again…. Well hey ho, we write what we know….
I read somewhere that in this lovely country, as many as 50% of all people have access to a summer house. If they don’t own one, they share it with relatives of family, or they rent it and that’s usually quite cheap. Ours is a shared one, that we can use pretty much as often as we want, and we love it. The location is perfect, just by the sea and with a big garden. The only thing that’s not quite perfect is the interior design.
Since summer houses are second homes, they often end up being a dumping ground for all kinds of unwanted pieces of furniture and other assorted pieces of junk. And in our summer house, although the house itself is a cute 1870s cottage, all the interior decor was designed in 1974. As you can see, it was all lovingly selected and put together (check out the matching wall paper and curtains!) by previous generations (my mother) and today it is sadly
unappreciated by the ingrates of this generation (me).
But seroisly, Swedish summer houses are fantastic, and now even the Mediterranean loving Brits are getting interested in properties in this unspoilt and reasonably priced part of Europe. UK based property agency http://www.swedishomes.co.uk/ offers cute cottages and handsome villas all over the country.
